A pioneer and visionary businessman, who has contributed to the Egyptian ICT industry since 1988. For more than 30 years, Hassanein Tawfiq has been the Managing Director of Advanced Computer Technology (ACT), responsible for the successful operations of one of the leading ICT Solution providers in the Egyptian Market. In 2016, he was elected as Chairman of ACT and all its subsidiaries.

Mr. Tawfiq is the leader behind the company’s vision, strategy, and direction. Using his entrepreneurial, management and leadership skills, he succeeded to build sales, marketing and projects teams that helped ACT achieve a significant position in the ICT industry. With expertise in strategy, marketing and operational improvement programs, Mr. Hassanein has taken ACT from single partnership with Compaq to allying with more than 20 well-known ICT providers worldwide. Under his leadership, ACT has achieved significant market share in the Egyptian ICT industry. Moving forward, Mr. Hassanein’s leadership positioned ACT in different countries as a competent solution provider with international capabilities. Now ACT has different representation offices in Dubai, KSA, Australia, France, and Morocco. Not only has he taken ACT internationally, he also identified different needs in different fields in the ICT industry and established other companies that would provide outsourcing for Egyptian IT personnel, Arabic digital content, development house, physical and digital security, and more. Passionate about Egypt and the ICT industry, Mr. Hassanein has worked closely with decision makers to establish and assist NGOs working in the ICT field like EITESAL and the Chamber of Information Technology (CIT). Mr. Hassanein’s positions -as a Board member of the German Arab Chamber of Commerce- and member of the American Chamber of Commerce, the Head of ICT committee in the Egyptian Businessmen Association, and Canada-Egypt Business council; have developed and maintained good relationships with key players in the ICT market locally and internationally. His aim was always to help in the growth and sustainability of the ICT industry and its members. Born in Minia; and after a long track record of accomplishments in the ICT field; Mr. Hassanein has been nominated to represent his home-town in the House of Senates. As a Senator for Minia governorate, he helps develop nation-wide legislation to promote the ICT industry and ensure that IT infrastructure is available to everyone. Mr. Tawfiq is married and has three sons. He received his bachelor’s degree in commerce from Cairo University in 1969.

Mohamed joined ACT in January 2018 as the Strategic Management Consultant to support the organization improve its business performance by creating real added-value opportunities and maximizing growth. Prior to joining ACT, Mohamed acquired renowned experience in the technology field. His career includes 15 years at IBM Saudi Arabia in different positions, ending his tenure there as Professional Services Manager.

In 1997, Mohamed joined ACT as Operations Director, playing a key role in the company’s growth at the time. After two years at ACT, he moved to Vodafone Egypt as Network Operations Director, spending 12 significant years there. In 2005 he was appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone, until he left the company in 2011. He was also a member of the Vodafone Global Research and Development Board for five years. Currently, he is Management and Telecom Consultant with assignments in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and UK. In addition, he is the Chairman of Vodafone Egypt Foundation, board member of the National Telecommunications Institute and other business organizations. Mohamed graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1979.

In 2006, Assem was appointed as ACT Management's Consultant, responsible for facilitating the company’s organizational efficiency to further ensure its sustainable financial growth. He is also involved in developing ACT’s community affairs with all entities representing the ICT sector in the Egyptian market. In 2010, Assem joined EITESAL NGO as a member of the board. He was also elected as Secretary General of EITESAL and organization development board subcommittee head. In his capacity as secretary general, he is responsible for governance processes and leadership of NGO’s.

Sameh El Mallah is ACT’s CEO with a mission to lead the company to achieve its true potential in the Egyptian market.

Prior to his position at ACT, he was CEO of Silicon Waha, a leading JSC company with the vision to spread Science and Technology Parks across second tier cities and reach out to Egypt's talented youth. The company also strives for the transformation of innovation and technological advancements for Egypt’s welfare and to lead the way to a better lifestyle in our communities. El Mallah was also the managing director for Intel, Egypt & Levant region. Prior to that, he was the Business Development Manager and Commercial Business Lead for Intel Corporation, working closely with government officials as well as with non-government organizations, education content providers, global and local industry, and educators. Before joining Intel in 2008, El Mallah was country manager for Raya Algeria. Prior to this, he directed project management organization delivering large scale IT system integration projects in Egypt. El Mallah’s background also includes several years working in the telecommunications industry, as the general manager of Raya Networks Services. From 1999 to 2000, El Mallah directed Siemens, Egypt services organizations, implementing nationwide fixed telecommunications networks. His experience includes successfully launching key education transformation programs in several countries in the region to increase ICT adoption in education and help children develop essential 21st century skills that will prepare them for higher education and to thrive in today’s global economy. El Mallah was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1966. He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Ain Shams University and holds an MBA degree in Finance and International Business from the Arab Maritime Academy of Management.

Mohamed has over 15 years of global experience in account management, business development and customer relationship management. His extensive hospitality tenure over the years led to his appointment as ACT International CEO and ACT Chief Operations Officer-Hospitality in 2018. In his capacity, he sets ACT's strategies to drive the company's growth in the hospitality industry not only locally, but on a global scale. Since his appointment, Mohamed capitalized on the company's existing 30-year portfolio and developed it to take the hospitality sector global. He ensured that the company's approach is customer-centric, based on a well-defined scope of work, tailoring to the customer's needs and requirements. ACT now has hospitality clients all over the world.

Prior to joining ACT, he was working for Oracle Hospitality (previously MICROS-Fidelio) in the regional office for EMEA . His nine-year experience at the German-based office included managing a portfolio of major hotel chains, such as Starwood, IG, Four Seasons, Fairmont and Wyndham. At Oracle, Mohamed was exposed to various projects that helped customers achieve their digital transformation strategies through Oracle Hospitality modern Cloud Platforms. Mohamed has an MBA from Henley Business School at Reading, UK and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo.

Mohamed is the company’s General Manager (Chief Commercial Officer) responsible to establish business objectives. He has a vast experience in marketing and management domains, and is considered ACT’s son, with nearly 26 years of experience in different positions in the company. Mohamed was already a trainee at ACT when he was still a student. Upon graduation, he then started on a fulltime basis as a junior service engineer in the Customer Support Department. Within 3 years, he was able to gain extensive technical experience that enabled his promotion to senior service engineer. By 1999, he was promoted to a more commercial role as Product Manager, where he was responsible for all marketing activities determining the business development strategy.

He later played a very important role in convincing management to activate the Marketing Department and introduce significant functions such as public relations and social responsibility. By the age of 34, Mohamed became Senior Marketing Manager at ACT. Mohamed is a member of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in addition to the American Chamber of Commerce. He was also head of the System Integration Committee at EITESAL, and is a former member of the Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (CIT). He graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1994.

Ashraf has worked for over 35 years in the Hospitality Information Technology Industry, with extensive experience in marketing, business development and corporate management. Ashraf recently got appointed as the General Manager for ACT International (Oracle Hospitality Provider), overseeing the company’s hospitality operations worldwide.

He has held national positions in the past as Director of Marketing and Director of Hospitality at ACT, mainly focusing on the Egyptian hospitality market. His experience expands across all brand-types of hotels. He has managed clients like Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Holiday Inns, and independent non-chain hotels.

Maged has 30+ years experience in the hospitality industry, with both expertise in hotels operations and international business development. He is specialized in hospitality solutions & ERP systems and worked on 300+ hospitality turn-key projects in Egypt and the Middle East. Joined ACT in 2004, since then he held different managerial positions from Senior Marketing Manager for Applications, Business Development Director, till becoming the GM of ACT middle east in 2018.

Prior to joining ACT in 2004, Maged was Regional IT Manager for IHG Group Middle East & Africa. Between 1996 and 2003, Maged held different positions at IHG Group where he was responsible for developing project plans to implement various hospitality and hardware solutions in hotels. His role included providing consultation to hotels regarding the integrated systems and communication aspects of possible or confirmed projects, reviewing the systems' performance and providing support to ensure best practices with the highest IT standards. It is worth mentioning that Maged has joined ACT after graduation in 1991 and left for pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. Maged is a graduate from Faculty of commerce, Cairo university 1985 and has a post graduate diploma in IT.

Hisham Hassan, ACT Global Soft General Manager, possesses an experience of more than 20 years in the Hospitality PMS and POS Solutions. Hisham joined ACT in 1996 in the Hospitality Division. Throughout his time at the company, he has played a major role in setting up services and projects operations. Moreover, he has worked on building the needed capabilities based on market demand and training them to reach the highest global standards so that they can apply ACT’s hospitality services across the world.

Hisham has always been an obvious advocate of human development. In 2003, he introduced an initiative of several technical training programs for fresh graduates to support them as they enter the world of employment and helps provide them with the necessary skills to become part of a larger team. The objective behind this initiative was to introduce fresh calibers inside ACT with highly advanced capabilities. Before joining ACT, Hisham was a Sales and Technical Support Manager at Delta Computer Company in 1993. Hisham graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Commerce, Benisuef branch.

Sherif is currently ACT’s Chief Financial Officer with more than 25 years of financial experience.

He has a vast experience in financial management and strategic planning, financial accounting and reporting, cash flow management, supply change management, compliance, control and information technology management. He has held several positions in Xerox Egypt with different capacities as Director of Finance, Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Internal Control, Head of Business Transformation locally and internationally in the MENA region. Sherif’s business resilience allows him to make continuous improvements to programs with adaption to business model changes and implementing business transformation plans. He holds a bachelor degree in Science from Ain Shams University and he is also a certified black belt leading complex improvement projects.

Hassan is a high-caliber, senior ICT consultant/digital transformation executive with over 23 years of IT and telecommunications experience. This includes 19 years in a world-class Tier-1 mobile operator and 12 years in senior technology leadership positions covering mobile network and IT infrastructure technologies including design, as well as service and operations. Hassan possesses exceptional telecom and IT experience based on a true customer-centric business model. He is very well acquainted with the telecommunication, transportation and education sectors and has worked on projects such as the Greater Cairo Metro project, Vodafone launch of 2G, 3G, 4G services, AUC IT infrastructure transformation, and Egypt’s public-school digital infrastructure project.

He has consistently improved delivery times and service levels whilst successfully reducing costs and excels at strategic planning, building high-performance teams, project management and implementing best practice methodologies and continuous improvement programs. Hassan has led successful and world-class business transformation programs and helped build network and scalable IT infrastructure and capabilities for Vodafone Egypt during his tenure as Director of Technology Service Management serving 45 million subscribers with 10,000 customer service representatives and exceptional CRM, business intelligence, ERP and billing capabilities. Hassan also previously held senior positions as Vice President Operations FiberMisr group Benya, Director of University Technology Infrastructure at the American University in Cairo. Hassan graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1995 and completed his Executive Management Diploma at AUC in 2005.

Ali boasts over 10 years of experience in monitoring and managing financial and strategic performance, in addition to managing relationships with business stakeholders. In his current role, Ali manages the Business Development, Business Alliances, Marketing and Customer Experience functions. His responsibilities include setting the company’s go-to-market plan across the different technology domains and sectors. Moreover, he successfully introduced new concepts in customer care management, driving it to be oriented towards focusing on the overall customer experience after working with ACT. He also fully overhauled the customer satisfaction evaluation system. In addition, he worked on architecting the right brand identity and positioning it to properly reflect the real equity the company has built ever since its foundation in 1988. Therefore, Ali is exposed to the company’s full value chain to ensure the company’s competitiveness. In 2016, Ali was selected as part of the company's Strategy Committee to develop the company's transformation strategy. He has supervised the implementation of the company's general strategy, as well as the restructuring, and revamp of the commercial system as a whole.

Prior to joining ACT in 2015, Ali worked at Vodafone Egypt for four years in the Prepaid Consumer Segment Department, part of the Marketing Division. During his tenure, he was responsible for managing the prepaid customer base, which was the highest revenue contributor line of business at the time. Moreover, he is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Egyptian Junior Business Association, in addition to contributions with other civil society associations. Ali has a BSc in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Economics.

Hazem Mansi is Chief Strategy and Digital Transformation Officer at ACT. Hazem has more than 22 years of experience in the ICT sector across diversified specializations and technologies. In 2007 he joined ACT as Head of the Microsoft Business Unit, managing the Sales, Vendor Management, Presales and Delivery functions and leading the strategic roadmap for the unit. He also built the right competencies that achieve annual growth rates of 25%, positioning ACT as the number one Microsoft partner in Egypt. Later he was promoted to manage the Corporate Marketing Department where he expanded his role into managing the company’s strategic vendors. Whilst holding this role, he began supervising the setup of ACT’s business plan from a commercial standpoint, in addition to setting the short and long-term objectives and strategies for the industries the company was aiming to penetrate, as well as the company’s vendors and solutions portfolio.

Throughout the years, and with his proven management skills, Hazem was assigned roles to oversee the Human Resources and Information Technology Departments. In 2018, he was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer for the Enterprise Sector, overlooking all commercial activities in the Public Sector, Security Sector and the Commercial sector that combines different industries such as Oil and Gas, Banking, Manufacturing, Real Estate and Telcom industries. Prior to his career at ACT, Hazem started his commercial career in the early 2000s as he headed the business development department in LOOK Holding, responsible for three business areas: Software Offshoring; Internet Applications and Dot Com Companies. Later he started his own business and established PROMOLINKS Co. specialized in providing advanced integrated digital signage solutions and succeeded to build esteemed references in Egypt and the Gulf Region. In 2016, he was elected as board member of the Chamber of Information Technology (CIT).

Karim has more than 10 years of extensive experience in the HR field with a focus on the Telecom, Real estate and Information Technology industries. Throughout his professional career, he provided full HR scopes within multinational organizations, as well as medium-sized and start-up companies. Currently, Karim heads the Human Capital Department at ACT and he is responsible for leading the HR transformation in terms of people and culture, by using diversified approaches to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Karim started his career at Vodafone Egypt where he held multiple roles within the HR department. He progressed within Employee Relations, Compensation and Business partnering functions. He was also appointed for an international assignment at Vodafone Qatar. In 2016, he joined UPSCALE Development as Head of Human Resources where he built the HR function from scratch, developed internal policies and procedures, launched HR processes and rolled-out HR programs across the organization. Karim graduated in 2010 from the Faculty of Management and Science.

With more than 23 years of experience in the field of software, IT law and contracts, Farouq spent the first 13 years of his career in the Egyptian “Council of State”. During his time there he experienced the core essence of the judicial body practices and values that equipped him with a solid legal background. Farouq joined ACT in 2015 as a General Counsel and Board Legal Advisor, before he was appointed as ACT’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. Today, he is accountable to lead ACT’s legal affairs successfully, utilizing a department that is responsible to streamline practices and processes of ACT’s main functions with corporate governance.

With a strong belief that corporate governance is a shared responsibility, Farouq is committed to embrace all ACT members into the corporate governance spirit, making the latter’s resources, strategy and mechanism achievable to all. This process includes quality assurance, preventing fraud, managing corporate and legal risk and exposure, following governmental regulatory issues, contract management, supporting company investment, company structure and new entities, controlling and managing court cases and settlement processes. Before joining ACT, Farouq was exposed to rich practical experience of managing in-house legal departments at leading private firms, where he got the opportunity to negotiate and conclude multimillion software and IT contracts. Amongst his top-held positions is his leadership capacity at Huawei Technologies, where he was appointed as the Legal Director for the Middle East region, based in Dubai. Farouq has also written and published a number of legal books since 2001. His Arabic books include “Software Law”, “Software Contracts” and “IT Contracts”.

Mohsen is currently the Financial Board Advisory at ACT overlooking all ACT Subsidiaries. He is a Senior Executive with more than 40 years of significant experience in finance and operations management in international commerce, free markets, information technology and construction industries.

Since joining ACT in April 1989, he has always been one of the cornerstones of the finance department responsible for the accounting, purchasing, warehousing and administration functions.
