The Multi-Purpose Terminal project is considered as a crucial initiative for the development of Alexandria port. ACT provided EGMPT with a full new IT Infrastructure network solution that met the port’s requirements to run in its best work conditions. Building a converged network improved the naval and maritime communication and collaboration tools and created greater operational efficiencies.
The provided solution included Cisco Enterprise Converged Network, Cisco Meraki (Wired- Wireless-VOIP-Security) and Palo Alto for NGFW; to accommodate the growing demands and retain the position of the main gateway port. Moreover, the scope included Hikvision for light current systems (CCTV - Access Control - Ip Intercom- physical security gates) and Hytera for portable Walkie-talkies.
